Frequently asked questions
Does outdoor porcelain need sealing?
Not porcelain, it is naturally non-porous and sealing is not required. Natural stone will need sealing if used outside.
How do you clean outdoor porcelain tiles?
To clean outdoor porcelain tiles, you can use warm water & detergent, there are specific outdoor cleaners from Mapei and Fila that can clean deep grime out of your tiles if needed. Alternatively, occasional pressure washing in particularly prone areas for deep cleans is perfectly okay with porcelain!
What are 2cm porcelain tiles?
2cm porcelain tiles are extra-thick outdoor porcelain tiles (20mm thick) designed for patios, gardens, and high-traffic areas. They’re stronger and more durable than standard indoor tiles.
What are the benefits of 2cm porcelain tiles?
They are: thicker, highly durable and weather-resistant, generally these are grip tiles so they are slip-resistant (ideal for wet UK conditions), low maintenance, generally frost-proof and fade-resistant. They make great choices for almost all outdoor applications, patios, pathways, driveways (with the exception of balconies due to weight restrictions).
